The Nectar of Purification
Morning Course
Why do so many things go wrong in our lives? Why is it so easy to become unhappy and negative? Why is it so hard to make spiritual progress? The Buddhist answer to all these questions is quite simple: we have a large backlog of negative karma. Every negative thought and action we have ever done leaves a negative imprint in our subtle consciousness, which functions to produce suffering and block happiness. We have had countless negative thoughts and done countless negative actions throughout this life and others, and the potentials left by these have made our mind dark, heavy and impure. But the good news is that all of this can be purified. When our body gets dirty, we are not stuck forever with a dirty body – we can have a shower and get clean again. We can do the same to rid ourself from this backlog of negative karma. . Whatever negative actions we have done in the past can be purified. There is no need to remain stuck with guilt, feeling that we are a bad person. All this negativity can be washed away.
On this morning course we will learn a simple but powerful purification practice called Meditation and Recitation of Buddha Vajrasattva. You may wish to bring a mala to count mantra recitations.
